From Johor to Sarawak, One Scoop at a Time — Inside Scoop Debuts Its Rasa-Rasa Malaysia Collection

Rasa

TLDR

  • Inside Scoop has launched its Rasa-Rasa Malaysia collection, inspired by local flavours and ingredients from six different Malaysian states in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.
  • Each unique flavour, such as Muar Liberica coffee affogato, Melaka’s Musang King dodol, and Sarawak’s gula apong tiramisu, delivers an authentic and nostalgic tasting experience.
  • The collection is available nationwide from 6 April to 11 May 2026, complete with specially designed cup sleeves and an ice cream passport for a fun and flavour-filled journey.

As Malaysia builds momentum towards Visit Malaysia 2026, Inside Scoop is leaning into something familiar yet deeply personal with its new Rasa-Rasa Malaysia collection.

Launched on 31 March 2026 at Inside Scoop’s Taman Tun Dr Ismail outlet, the collection was officiated by Tourism Malaysia’s Senior Director of Management, Wizani bin Rosmin.

Rasa-Rasa Malaysia reflects Inside Scoop’s constant curiosity about local flavours, transforming regional ingredients and everyday favourites into scoops that invite Malaysians to rediscover the country one taste at a time.

A scoop of home, served for Visit Malaysia 2026

The six flavours draw inspiration from different states, each anchored by ingredients that feel unmistakably Malaysian. Johor’s take comes in the form of an affogato made with Muar’s Liberica “Elephant Bean” coffee. Bold, aromatic and slightly smoky, it cuts through the creaminess with a confident bitterness that coffee lovers will appreciate. It’s refined, restrained, and a clear nod to Johor’s long-standing coffee culture.

From the East Coast, Kelantan is represented through a pairing that feels both grounding and indulgent, 70% dark chocolate made from local beans and sweet berangan bananas. The result is rich without being overpowering, with the bitterness of cocoa balanced by the fruit’s natural sweetness.

Melaka’s flavour is anything but subtle. Dodol Musang King takes the chewy, caramelised richness of traditional dodol and amplifies it with the creamy intensity of Malaysia’s most famous durian variety. It’s bold, indulgent, and unapologetically local.

Sarawak’s gula apong makes a standout appearance in a tiramisu-inspired flavour that highlights the palm sugar’s signature smoky caramel profile. Often referred to as Borneo’s “Black Gold,” gula apong lends a depth and warmth that feels both familiar and unexpected in ice cream form.

Closer to home, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor are channelled through a nostalgic crowd-pleaser inspired by the classic mamak chocomalt “dinosaur”. Extra kaw, creamy, and indulgent, this flavour taps straight into childhood memories. It’s playful, over-the-top, and simply comfort food in frozen form.

Rounding out the collection is a lighter, refreshing option from Pahang. Strawberry Lemonade blends zesty lemon ice cream with strawberries from the Cameron Highlands. Bright, tangy, and simple, it's the kind of scoop that feels tailor-made for Malaysia’s heat.

More than just ice cream

Beyond the ice cream itself, Inside Scoop adds thoughtful storytelling touches. Each serving comes wrapped in a custom-designed cup sleeve inspired by its respective state, turning every scoop into a small keepsake. For those wanting the full experience, the Rasa-Rasa Pack (RM70) lets customers take all six flavours home, ideal for sharing, comparing, and revisiting favourites.

The travel theme continues with the introduction of an Ice Cream Passport. Available with every Rasa-Rasa Pack while stocks last, the passport encourages customers to hop between Inside Scoop outlets to collect unique stamps, turning simple ice cream runs into mini adventures across the city.

Available nationwide from 6 April to 11 May 2026, Rasa-Rasa Malaysia feels less like a novelty launch and more like a thoughtful exploration of identity through taste. It celebrates local ingredients and reminds us that sometimes, the fastest way to travel across Malaysia is with a spoon.
