Over the years, Coca Cola introduced several interesting flavours to their world-famous carbonated beverage such as the Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, Green Tea Coke (euw), and Orange Coke.
Fast forward to 2017, Coke has just released its latest marvel – Coca Cola Coffee Plus.
Yes, you read that right, coffee AND Coke!
Before you get all excited and rally up your mates to raid the 7-11 near you, the new coffee infused Coke is only available in Japan so far. Yes, it’s so far.
If you’ve been drinking a ton amount of Coke your whole life, you’d know by now that there’s a little bit of caffeine in every can of Coke.
So, how much caffeine are we talking about that's infused in this Coca Cola Coffee Plus? According to the brand, it’s 50% more than your average Coke but it also claims to be 50% lower in calories.
Each 190ml can has 34mg of caffeine and 42 calories. It's also been said that the coffee is made from extract powder.
According to a Japanese portal, Shin-Shouhin, the drink doesn’t actually taste like Coke nor coffee (then what leh?). It has an ‘odd’ scent and tastes exactly like a can of Coke but with a coffee aftertaste.
To be honest, we really don't know what's going on here.

However, this isn’t the first time Coca Cola has come up with a coffee-infused drink.
They previously dropped Coca-Cola BlāK in Europe and the US back in 2006, which is - yep, you guessed it! - coffee coke.
So, if you're lucky enough to be in Japan right now, you know what to do. It’s not going to be on the market forever.
