Malaysians are still reeling from Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir’s resignation, and are anxious to know who’s going to fill in for him soon.
While we wait for the news, we were served with another that has devastatingly affected a lot of Malaysians.
Health Minister Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, who recently gave a positive update about the Coronavirus situation in our country, tweeted a sad farewell on Monday (24 February):
AlhamdulilLah!
— Dzulkefly Ahmad (@DrDzul) February 24, 2020
2 lg kes COVID-19 pulih sepenuhnya & discaj hari ini. TIADA kes +ve baru.?
Kes-14 & Kes-19 sblm ini dirawat di HKL.
Jumlah yg tlh pulih sepenuhnya & discaj hingga hari ini 20 org.
2 masih dirawat di wad dan stabil.
Tweet saya terakhir sbg YBMK. TK! pic.twitter.com/l1c73qBQXg
“Alhamdulillah. Two more cases of COVID-19 have fully recovered and will be discharged today. No new positive cases,” he wrote at the beginning.
This makes the total recovered patients to 20 people while the remaining two are still being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
“This is my last tweet as Health Minister. Thank you!,” he ended the tweet.
A Great Loss to The Country

Following his tweet, many Malaysians express their sadness over the news. While it’s not sure why or what led to him stepping down, his presence will definitely be missed.
Dr. Dzul has done a great job so far leading the battle against the Coronavirus, to the point that other countries are looking at us especially when it comes to patient recovery.
Malaysia currently has a 90 per cent success recovery rate for COVID-19 patients.
Here are some heartfelt messages left by Malaysians who are saddened by Dr. Dzul’s sudden resignation from his post:
Im crying for real. Dr Dzul doesn't deserve this. He focused on serving the people and he did that wonderfully. He has a great, talented team by his side, my best friend included. I hope you'll be reinstated, Dr. Thank you so much. https://t.co/bDlFwDVeob

Thank you @DrDzul. Healthcare is one of the most important foundations in any nation. You did a great job in the past 2 years, possibly the best. Your successor has big shoes to fill. https://t.co/nwsA3K3ZCc

This is sad. We'll miss @DrDzul as the health minister. Hands down one of the best performing ministers in the short-lived cabinet.

Whatever happens, it cannot be denied that @DrDzul was hands down the best performing minister. Instead of politicking, he actually did his job and did it really well!

While the majority of power-crazed Malaysian politicians are gambling with the fate of a nation, he’s busy treating the Coronavirus patients and dealing with the outbreak. A man for the people.
Thank you for your service, @DrDzul.
Dikala political upheaval going on here and there, this man right here doesn't bat an eye and still does his work professionally. Kudos to Dr Dzul????? https://t.co/0p3IbOwKuk
