A woman has sparked outrage and been accused of animal abuse after a video showing her repeatedly tugging at a sheep's wool went viral online.
The video, captured by a Taiwanese tourist, was shared on Threads. It is understood that the woman caught committing the act was also a tourist. The incident is said to have taken place at the Sheep Sanctuary at Kea Farm in Brinchang, Cameron Highlands, on 19 June.
In the viral clip, the female tourist, who was wearing a white top and blue jeans, appeared to be petting the animal. However, she was later seen deliberately grabbing and pulling at the sheep's wool multiple times.

Unsurprisingly, the action appeared to upset the animal, which began charging at her repeatedly. If you think that would have sent a message to the woman to stop, you'd be wrong. As the video continued, she kept tugging at the sheep's wool.
The video was recorded from afar
According to the Taiwanese tourist, the woman was seen talking to another male tourist. Unfortunately, he did not intervene and was instead seen laughing and chatting with her throughout the incident.
In a follow-up post, the Taiwanese tourist clarified that she did not intervene because she had witnessed the incident from a distance and recorded it using a zoom lens.
Netizens were enraged
Needless to say, the video has since garnered significant attention from Malaysians, many of whom heavily criticised the tourist's actions.
Meanwhile, some social media users praised the Taiwanese tourist for recording the incident as evidence. Others urged those who witness animal abuse to immediately call out the perpetrator and help protect the wellbeing of the animal.
