Singapore Company Comes Up With Kit To Detect Wuhan Coronavirus

While the world is dealing with the global outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus, a Singapore biotech company has come up with something that could help with the situation.

Veredus Laboratories has developed the VereCoV detection kit, a portable lab-on-chip application that can detect the Wuhan coronavirus.

According to a report in Mothership, the detection kit can also detect the Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) Coronavirus and the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) Coronavirus.

The kit only takes two hours to produce results. 

A fast and portable way to detect the virus.
Veredus Laboratories CEO Rosemary Tan said this is one of the first commercially available kits in the world which will be able to do so.

The VereCoV kit is expected to be available commercially starting Feb 1 this year.
