Police are currently on the lookout for an express bus driver who was caught on camera allegedly driving recklessly.
In a video that has since gone viral online, the bus driver can be seen leaning against his seat while using only one hand to drive the bus.
According to Alor Gajah district police chief Ahmad Abu Bakar, the incident is currently being investigated by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department.
“It is understood that the bus, with registration number BSB 4999, was en route from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to Johor Bahru. The incident is believed to have occurred at Kilometre 196.1 of the North–South Expressway (NSE)."
“The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving,” he said, as reported by Berita Harian.

Meanwhile, the bus operator, Billion Star Express, has since released a statement confirming that the driver has been suspended.
The company also issued an apology following the incident, noting that it takes the safety of its passengers very seriously.
Billion Star Express further stated that it would give its full cooperation to the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in the matter.

Not the first incident involving express bus drivers
Previously, another express bus driver went viral after a video of him driving with a woman seated on his lap was shared online.
The woman, believed to be his girlfriend, was also seen holding the steering wheel while the bus was in motion.
The couple was later sentenced to six months in jail and fined RM5,000 each after pleading guilty to the offence.
