Seven individuals have been hailed as heroes after they selflessly formed a “human chain” to save a family whose car had plunged into a lake.

According to the video, the men ran and immediately jumped into the cold, dark water after hearing children crying from inside the car. They were later joined by several other men who worked together to save a mother and her two young children trapped in the vehicle.

“About seven to eight of us jumped to help. It was tense. Some of us almost drowned during the rescue mission,” the man wrote.

After about 15 minutes, all the victims were successfully rescued. The mother and her two children, aged six and three, were later transported to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

As of this writing, the exact cause of the incident is still unclear. The mother and children are reportedly in stable condition and are still being treated at Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“Thank you, kind people!”

The video has since garnered attention from Malaysians, many of whom praised the bravery of the seven men.

Meanwhile, one user raised concerns over the safety of the area near Tasik Biru and urged authorities to take action to prevent similar incidents.

“Thank you, kind people. All of you are exceptional. No ordinary person would sacrifice themselves to help others."

The user added, "I once worked at Tioman Island and have experience rescuing three people from drowning. Such rescues are very risky, especially when the victim panics. If you make the wrong move, the rescuer could end up drowning too.”

Another commented, “There have been many cases of cars plunging into Tasik Biru. The authorities should consider installing a barrier here. It’s dangerous.”
