Many Malaysians have an undying love towards the South Korean culture, thanks to the handsome oppas, K-pop, and K-dramas.
So naturally, a lot of you out there may have picked up the language and are able to converse fluently.
But what if the tables are turned, and a South Korean is able to not only speak in Bahasa Malaysia, but also in our slang (aka the ‘bahasa pasar’)?
South Korean girl Maryam You Narae recently went viral on Twitter after a clip of her innocently saying “saya lapar nak mampus” (I am very hungry) spread like wildfire on the social media site.
Netizens found the clip amusing and said that she sounded very cute:
Netizens also shared other clips of her speaking in Malay:
It turns out that the man in the clip is actually Maryam’s husband, a Malaysian named Ryzal Ibrahim, and they are currently residing in South Korea.
Her husband, who is from Kelantan, can be seen in the background and appears to be regreting his decision of teaching her some Malay words.
The couple recently tied the knot back in September 2019.
Well, keep those clips coming because we find Maryam very cute and entertaining!
