For many motorists who travel along the stretch of Jalan Parlimen on weekday mornings, you may have noticed that there are always traffic police managing the flow of vehicles there. But alongside these hardworking officers, there’s one dog who has been lending them a paw for the past two years.
Affectionately referred to as Jon, the beige-coloured stray has been a loyal ‘co-worker’ to the traffic police stationed there. Every morning, as early as 7 AM, motorists often catch sight of Jon ‘working’ alongside traffic police officers at the intersections leading to both Jalan Tugu and Bukit Aman.

According to one traffic officer, Jon sometimes arrives earlier than his other ‘human co-workers’, and he has been ‘working’ there since 2024. Talk about a hard‑working doggo!
Though police officers and motorists refer to him as Jon, no one actually knows his real name or where he came from.
“Jon was already around when I began duty here. In one way or another, we’ve actually seen him grow over the years."
"When our shift ends at about 9 AM, the dog leaves the area. We do not know where he goes or what he does during the weekends. But whenever we return, Jon is always here, ready for action,” the officer said.

Videos of Jon ‘working’ have since gone viral on social media. Aside from the officers on duty, Jon has also managed to win the hearts of motorists, some of whom have given him treats for a job well done.
