And the latest thing that got us talking at rapid speed is… *drum roll* fast food.
A lot of Malaysians (including us) are apparently unhappy after finding out several fast food chains such as KFC and McDonald’s have decided to increase their prices due to the implementation of the six per cent SST tax.

According to some hungry and angry consumers, some KFC sets have increased up to RM4. Based on our observation, a set of KFC’s dinner plate which has three pieces of chicken, two sides and one drink now costs RM19.60 per set.
KFC harga baru ?. Jadi korang nak pergi makan tu bawak duit lebih sikit ye ?? Nak buat sendiri boleh check thread ??

Selain KFC, MCD juga naikkan harga setelah dicampurkan terus dengan SST. Cuma kenaikkan KFC agak tinggi. Tapi aku maafkan sebab KFC dah agak lama tak naikkan harga. MCD? Kalau dia tiba2 buat promotion produk lama, means naik hargo lah tuu..

Kalau KFC mahal, boikotlah KFC, nanti tak laku, dia risau, dia sedarlah diri. Prinsip ekonomi asas pun nak kena ajar.

Following complaints from consumers, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) is now seeking clarification from both KFC and McDonald’s over the pricing issue.
The ministry has already begun conducting checks at several outlets.
“We have done several checks this morning and my officers have sought explanation from KFC over the price increase,” deputy enforcement chief Datuk Iskandar Halim Sulaiman told Astro Awani.
“We will look at price of food items at McDonalds as well. Currently, the issue is on KFC but we will also find more information from McDonalds on the price increase,” he added.
At this rate, eating fast food will soon be considered as a luxury by the looks of it. We hope that the ministry will regulate the price of fast food chains to prevent exorbitant price hikes.
