Remember our national diver Cheong Jun Hoong who bagged the silver medal alongside Pandalela Rinong at last year’s Olympics?
Well, she’s made us proud yet again!
Malaysians woke up to some good news on Thursday morning after discovering that Jun Hoong snagged the gold medal in the women's 10m platform individual final at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
With that golden dive, she became the first ever Malaysian to become the world diving champion. Congratulations, we are SO PROUD of you!

Jun Hoong's astonishing dive got her a glorious score of 397.50 points, beating Olympic gold and silver medalist China’s Re Qian and Si Yajie to the crown.
“My god, I’m a world champion!” she told the New Straits Times.
"I hoped for a medal, but I didn’t think I could beat the Chinese divers.”

Well, Jun Hoong, your effort and hard work paid off and you so totally deserved to win that gold medal! The Perak lass is definitely an inspiration to all of us.
Meanwhile, Jun Hoong's partner-in-crime Pandalela placed ninth out of 12 during the finals, but they both managed to take home the bronze medal in the women's 10m platform synchronised event.
Congratulations to Jun Hoong and Pandalela. Malaysia Boleh!
