Following fast food chain McDonalds' localised change of name to 'Mekdi' at their Bukit Bintang outlet in conjunction with the Merdeka celebration, A&W has also jumped on the bandwagon but in the sweetest way possible. 

A&W Malaysia has recently announced that they will be giving away free regular-sized root beers to celebrate our National Day.

In their announcement posted on their Facebook page, A&W said “Whether Mekdi or Kepci - on this special day, bring your friends to Endabyu to enjoy a FREE RB (Regular), on us! It’s Hari Kebangsaan after all, and everyone should be along for the ride!”


What’s even more heartwarming is an illustration of Colonel Sanders riding a bicycle with Ronald McDonalds meeting up A&W’s mascot, Rooty Bear.

One Facebook fan commented on the post suggesting other customers to have a combination of food and drinks from the three fast food joints.

“Double down burger + big mac + root beer = heavenly meal,” Lionel Alfred commented.

Many others applauded A&W for featuring all three of Malaysia’s most beloved fast food chains in one post.


Well guys, what better way to celebrate the patriotic event than with a few free root beers with your friends.
