When we talk about metal bands, what usually comes to mind? Well, it’ll usually be a group of guys constantly dressed in black and edgy clothing, sporting a long hair "I-just-got-out-of-bed" look and a real passion for their craft and music.
If you see a 12-year-old boy hanging around a metal band, you’d probably think he’s just another fan. You might even praise him for listening to “good” music at his age.
Well, not this boy.
Meet Tye Trujillo, aged 12, and the son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.

Kids around his age are probably busy playing video games at home or hanging out at the skate park but for Tye, he’s busy playing bass and has just embarked on a tour with one of the most popular metal bands in entertainment – Korn.

You must be thinking, what do these Korn dudes see in Tye?
Well, he’s actually filling in for their own bassist, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, who’s unable to travel due to “unforeseen circumstances” which means he will not be joining their upcoming South American tour.
“We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye. We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May,” the band said in a statement.
Their tour will cover Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru. The announcement was made via their Facebook page.
Of course Tye must be one hell of a talented boy or else they wouldn’t even consider taking him along.
According to the band's wesbite, he’s been playing the bass since the age of eight in his own band, The Helmets.
This opportunity may be envied by those who are double, triple, or even quadruple Tye’s age, but this experience will lead to greater things and a brighter, rocking future for this young bassist.
Guess all those years watching his dad perform finally paid off, huh?
