On Saturday, Tom Hiddleston tweeted four short sentences that broke the Internet. Or his Twitter account, at least.
The tweet, so simple yet sent a game-changing message triggered crazy reactions from his fans.
The Avengers star tweeted: “Loki. More stories to tell. More mischief to make. More to come.”
The tweet garnered over 104,000 retweets at the time of posting and naturally, our first thought was “Is Loki coming back in the fourth Avengers? OMG.”
A lot of fans were also on the same boat as us because let’s be real, who wouldn’t want Loki to be resurrected in the next Avengers movie?!
Well, we put on our detective hats and did some investigation, and found out otherwise.
Sorry to disappoint you guys, but Loki won’t be coming back in the next installment of Avengers. The ‘hint’ he dropped was for Loki’s standalone spin-off show coming on Disney+ soon.
According to a press release from Disney, the company confirmed that they are “assembling a live-action series centered around a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
“[Bob] Iger today confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston.”
So, no Loki for Avengers but at least he’s getting his own TV series.
It’s still a win-win situation for fans, right?
